2020 Season Events
“Monologue Free-for-All”
The Open Eye Theater’s “Monologue Free-for-All” from Season 2020: Thirteen brand new monologues from playwrights near and far, performed by your favorite Open Eye actors, followed by a discussion led by WIOX Community Radio’s “Playtime” Host Gail Lennstrom.
The show was originally performed Sunday, July 19, 2020, at 6:00 pm on a special edition of Gail Lennstrom’s “Playtime” on WIOX Community Radio in the Catskills 91.3 FM, streamed at WIOXradio.org and simulcast on MTC Channel 20 television.
“A Wing and a Prayer”
The Open Eye Theater’s “A Wing and a Prayer” by Anne Barone, a brand new 40-minute play from Season 2020: Set in 1985, the story follows three adult siblings and an eleven-year-old girl, through their struggles with the effects substance abuse in the family has had on them individually. Following the performance, a panel of professionals in the field of substance abuse therapy discuss the play.
“Summer Shortcuts X, Part I”
The Open Eye Theater’s “Summer Shortcuts X, Part I” -- Four brand new ten-minute plays from Season 2020: “Zooming Grandma” by Sally Simon; “The Birds are Feeding Me” by Rex McGregor; “Scratch-Scratch-Scratch-Scratch-Thonk” by Sandra Fenichel Asher; and “Tonight at the Stage Door” by Donald Loftus. Each play is followed by a brief discussion led by Open Eye producing artistic director Amie Brockway.
