End of Season Fundraiser

“Weaving Tales for Today and Tomorrow”

Why not support your community through giving to non-profits, like The Open Eye Theater? Not only does the theater provide playwrights with a venue to perform their plays but also develop new plays. By doing this we help develop audiences for the arts. Our performances online and over WIOX on wioxradio.org widens our reach beyond the Catskill Mountain community. The theater's work in local schools and Youth Theater Workshop gives children new ways to express themselves and develop their talents and communication skills.

Please join us by donating to The Open Eye Theater and help us in Weaving Stories for Today and Tomorrow.

Your donation will support ongoing productions at The Open Eye Theater of high quality theater performances and other educational programming for a diverse population in the Catskill Mountain region and beyond. See below for a representative sample of productions from the past few years.

The Open Eye Theater = a Gift of the Arts in the Catskills

“My first opportunity with The Open Eye Theatre was as a teaching artist conducting theatre residencies at the Margaretville, Roxbury and Andes Central schools working with teachers and K-6 students.  One summer, I directed a children's production of Pinocchio, performed in a tent outside, while the newly purchased building was being renovated.  After a decade of working abroad, I returned to acting and directing at the Open Eye, culminating this fall 2021, with the rare opportunity to play the role of Stage Manager in Our Town.  This event is a highlight of my life.

The Open Eye Theater brings new and classic plays in person live, in schools, on Zoom, on WIOXradio.org and MTC, while also giving anyone in the community at large the opportunity to learn about, work, perform and thrive in the theatre.  The Open Eye Theater is a Gift of the Arts in the Catskills.”
